Just concluded the 13th online edition of the NATO M&S Basic Course

The NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence (NATO M&S COE) conducted the 13th online edition of the NATO M&S Basic Course from 8-11 March 2022.

The Course, accredited by the NATO Joint Force Trainer as “NATO Approved,” is included in the NATO Education and Training Opportunities Catalogue. It is open to NATO and PfP Nations and Organizations. The course objectives are to deliver information about Modelling & Simulation use in the military context and address general subjects related to the M&S in the military environment.

This course is an excellent opportunity and venue to deliver M&S knowledge to those seeking to improve their education on this topic.

The course has continually received increased global interest with about 50 international participants, within both civilian and military contexts, participating in the previous courses. This course also included staff from SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) to help increase the level of knowledge on how M&S may support operations for the NATO Strategic HQ.

Colonel Francesco Pacillo, the NATO M&S COE Director, stated that, “The high number of students confirmed, once again, the great interest from the M&S community in M&S for NATO. The online delivery has proven to be very effective and able to support the NATO Training & Education pillar. In particular, the M&S Basic course allows students to be familiar with the basic concepts of M&S, its current state as applied to civilian and military environments and some insights about future M&S developments. The M&S Basic course represents a milestone able to stimulate the student’s natural progression regarding such innovative technology”.
