NATO Centres of Excellence Catalogue for 2024 Released

The 2024 edition of the NATO-accredited Centres Of Excellence has just been released.

The annual catalogue of Centres Of Excellence has emerged as a highly popular platform for showcasing the Centres’ expertise, not only within NATO bodies but also among different stakeholders. This success is attributed to the dedicated efforts of the community of 29 NATO-accredited Centres Of Excellence, soon to become 30 with the accreditation of the Climate Change and Security Centre Of Excellence, which has demonstrated resilience in addressing contemporary challenges through innovative initiatives, preserving its diverse expertise for the benefit of the Alliance.

The primary objective of the catalogue is to enhance understanding of the nature and value of NATO Centres Of Excellence within the Alliance. Additionally, the promotional tools aim to explain the creation process of these centres and, crucially, provide insights into how their support can be requested.

The NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence is an international source of expertise focused on supporting NATO’s Digital Transformation and providing M&S support at the point of need. The Centre is committed to Quality Assurance and was reaccredited as a NATO Education & Training Facility providing quality M&S courses to members of the Alliance. The M&S COE is a hub for the M&S community of interest promoting cooperation, sharing of M&S expertise, and contributing to the development of new M&S concepts and capabilities.

NATO Centres of Excellence are nationally or multi-nationally funded institutions accredited by NATO. They train and educate leaders and specialists from NATO member and partner countries, assist in doctrine development, identify lessons learned, improve interoperability and capabilities, and test and validate concepts through experimentation. They offer recognized expertise and experience that is of benefit to the Alliance and support the transformation of NATO, while avoiding the duplication of assets, resources and capabilities already present within the NATO command structure. Although not part of the NATO command structure, they are part of a wider framework supporting NATO Command Arrangements. [source https://www.act.nato.int/centres-of-excellence]
