COE Admiral Manfred NIELSON, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, visits NATO M&S COE - NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence

On February 19th 2018, Admiral Manfred NIELSON, the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (DSACT), honored the NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence (M&S COE) in Rome with an official visit.

Adm. Nielson was welcomed by Rear Admiral (ITA Navy) Giovanbattista RAIMONDI, ITA MOD Joint Staff – Division Deputy Chief of C4I Transformation, Brigadier General (ITA Army) Arturo NITTI, ITA MOD Centre for Defence Innovation Director, Capt. (ITA Navy) Vincenzo MILANO, the NATO M&S COE Director, and the NATO M&S COE staff.

The NATO M&S COE Director led a presentation about the Centre with a special focus on current and future M&S COE activities.

The DSACT was briefed on the Centre’s work developing a cloud-based M&S solution; managing M&S experimentation; work on M&S for cyber and autonomous systems; and M&S education and Fora for NATO.

Adm. Nielson expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the M&S COE’s activities in support of the Alliance, looking forward to a close cooperation.
